Fall Selkirk Photography Workshop

Join me for an intimate, small-group landscape photography workshop in North Idaho’s Selkirk Mountains, October 2–3.

We’ll photograph the Roman Nose Lakes and we’re timing the workshop for the heart of the fall color season, when the western larch at Roman Nose typically begin glowing gold and the surrounding underbrush turns shades of red, yellow, and orange. This workshop is limited to just 3 photographers, allowing me to work closely with each person in the field.

All skill levels are welcome!
This workshop will focus on beginner to intermediate landscape photography techniques. Whether you're still learning your camera or already have experience in the field, I'll work with you at your level and help you get the most out of our time together.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Friday Evening
Sunset photography lower Roman Nose Lake (the one you can drive to), followed by an optional night of dispersed camping at Roman Nose.

Saturday Morning
Sunrise photography at the lake, pack camp, and on the drive down do a short hike to a nearby waterfall where we’ll work with shutter speed and techniques for photographing moving water.

Saturday Afternoon
We’ll return to Sandpoint for a one-hour Lightroom editing session, where I’ll walk through my approach to bringing the images we captured in the field to life.

• Understanding exposure and making confident decisions in the field
• Composition and using foreground elements to create depth and interest
• Recognizing changing light and adapting your photography to it
• Reading and using your camera’s histogram
• Photographing moving water
• My Lightroom editing workflow and techniques
• Hands-on guidance throughout our time in the field
