The biggest lightning show N. Idaho and Montana have seen in decades! I had been watching the weather for a couple of days and prepared my gear earlier that afternoon. Then began watching the sky. While at my MMA practice I stepped out and seen the lightning coming. I told the boys I had to go and took off! Pedal to the metal I barely missed an incredible sunset with a rainbow and lightning as a backdrop before arriving at my photography location. I pulled up, grabbed my gear, and practically ran as I set my tripod and camera up! As the storm got closer and closer I changed my camera to vertical and managed to capture the closest ground strike near me of the night, with Sandpoint as a background! Then it was time to get out of there as lightning flashed overhead.
